Dome Classic Golf Scramble

The first annual Sisters of St. Benedict Dome Classic got underway only a little behind schedule on Monday, September 22, after rain clouds gave way to blue skies and bright sunshine at Victoria National Golf Club, Newburgh, Indiana. Thirty-six teams of four spent much of the day challenged by a course ranked 49th in the nation by Golf Digest. Special course events included a hole-in-one, longest drive, longest putt, closest to the pin, and a final shoot-out for players who qualified. 

Besides the experience of golfing, the program included a clinic with LPGA Senior Mary Bryan, lunch, presentation of awards, a silent auction, a special raffle for 10 mega-prizes worth over $25,000, introductions and speakers, dinner, and music by the Sisters' Combo. Proceeds from this "classic" event will be used for the retirement needs of the sisters.

The sisters thank the many volunteers, contributors, sponsors, and participants who made this first golf scramble a tremendous success. A special thanks goes to Terry Friedman, who offered the sisters the use of his beautiful Victoria National Golf Club for this event and helped in so many other ways to make the day successful.
