Dome Classic Golf Scramble

Our second annual Sisters of St. Benedict Dome Classic was deemed a "huge" success according to event planners and participants. This year's golf scramble, held again at beautiful Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana, was a tribute to Terry Friedman, founder of Victoria National and a generous supporter of the sisters. Terry passed away in March.

The Dome Classic began with a clinic given by two LPGA senior players, Cindy Miller and Sue Ertl, and continued with 27 teams of four pitting their skills against the challenging 18-hole course. The two women pros also teed with golfers on holes 5 and 11. Besides golfing, the event included lunch, awards, special raffles with over $30,000 in prizes, dinner, and music by the Sisters Combo. Adding to the excitement of the day, a special friend and supporter of the sisters made a surprise visit to Victoria National. Florence Henderson, one of the most respected and beloved stage, screen, and television stars of our time, greeted golfers and volunteers, sold raffle tickets, helped conduct the shoot-out event, and posed for many photos. 

Thanks to the many volunteers, contributors, sponsors, and participants who made the Dome Classic a tremendous success. Special thanks to the Friedman family for the use of Victoria National Golf Club. Proceeds from this "classic" event will be used for the retirement needs of the sisters.
